Finding Internships and Graduate Roles in East Africa

By Bonga Jobs

A practical approach to finding early-career opportunities in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and neighbouring markets.

Search beyond one channelCheck employer career pages, university career offices, professional associations, reputable job boards, and sector events. Follow organisations you would genuinely like to learn from and note their recruitment seasons, eligibility rules, and application process.Prepare an evidence folderKeep a clean CV, transcript or qualification record where relevant, references, certificates, and a small portfolio. Name each file clearly. Do not send documents that an employer has not requested, especially identity or banking information.Ask about learning and supervisionBefore accepting an internship, clarify the responsibilities, duration, supervisor, work location, allowance or salary, and expected working hours. A useful placement should give you meaningful work and feedback, not only routine errands or unpaid full-time labour with no clear learning plan.
