Role Description The Industrial Specialist internship is an on-site role based in Kampala. The intern will support industrial engineering and manufacturing activities, including monitoring production processes, collecting data, and assisting with process improvements. Daily tasks may involve preparing basic reports, supporting training initiatives on production procedures, and collaborating with supervisors and technicians to address operational issues. The intern will also help ensure safety and quality standards are maintained, participate in team meetings, and communicate findings and recommendations clearly to colleagues. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in an industrial setting and exposure to export operations.

Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to evaluate production data, identify trends, and support process optimization.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information clearly.
• Candidates should possess foundational Industrial Engineering skills, including understanding of production systems and process design.
• Candidates should possess Manufacturing-related skills, such as familiarity with shop-floor operations, safety practices, and quality standards.
• Candidates should possess Training skills, including the ability to support and document standard operating procedures and assist in staff orientation.
• Diploma or bachelor’s studies in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Basic knowledge of industrial safety regulations and quality control principles is beneficial.
• Ability to work on-site in Kampala, manage time effectively, and learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with common productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing) is an advantage.
